SEMA Film Club at Unseen Nairobi

On Tuesday, we held our first screening at Unseen Nairobi. Students watched “Sisters With Transistors”, a documentary showcasing the music and ideas of female electronic pioneers, the doc demonstrates that these women relished the freedom of electronic music, even as they were discriminated against because of their gender and their chosen medium. We had great discussions in the beautiful Unseen cinema room, and hung out on the beautiful rooftop afterwards.

We’re quite ecstatic about collaborating with this independent cinema to host regular screenings of music documentaries and special events. Unseen is as passionate about film as we are about music – be sure to check out their programming!
