The Gear Box Project
Santuri East Africa, the social enterprise known for is commitment to developing innovation, identity and community around electronic music from East Africa, is rolling out The Gear Box project in partnership with Native Instruments! Santuri Gear Box project seeks to increase access to cutting edge production and performance technology (hardware + software) in order to spin the East African electronic music ecosystem to a whole new height. We plan enable a total of 6 recording/production studios, 6 performance platforms and 6 creative collectives from 6 countries in the East of Africa.
The countries covered in this project include Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania (including Zanzibar), and for the first time the Santuri Safari web stretches to reach 3 new countries – Rwanda, Burundi & Ethiopia. This project is set to benefit spaces/platforms that enable creative collaboration and shared access to community resources, as opposed to individuals.
Applications close on 31 October 2017 followed by selection process in November 2017, the project roll out begins in December 2017.
